About Us

The founder

Sandra Segersteén grew up in south of Sweden, in a small city surrounded by forest and nature. Her grandparents lived in Altea, Spain and she spent most summers in their garden picking fruit and going to the market with her grandmother.

In her mid twenties Sandra decided to see what more Europe had to offer and she spent a few years between London, Madrid and Altea working with the small Spanish luxury accessories brand Victoria de Talhora. This is where she learned everything about sustainable high quality natural materials and the importance of a good finish to create a true long lasting product.

Sandra now resides in the buzzing and creative neighbourhood Hackney in East London with her Italian partner Francesco, their baby Wilma and the cat Charlie (it’s the neighbours cat but they love him like he was their own). She now spends her time between her London home, Sweden, Spain and Italy and she gathers inspiration and new energy on her travels that she brings back into her work

The Brand

Steén was born both from Sandra’s love for sustainable and natural materials and also from a wish to create clothes that can easily be rolled up in a bag for travelling and that can be mixed and matched with different pieces in the wardrobe to suit every season.

Scandi meets the Mediterranean shows Sandra’s Scandinavian heritage as well as influences from her years in Spain and many travels to Italy. The Steén collection is a union of the classical simplicity and effortless of Scandi style paired with elegant mediterranean inspired cuts and shapes.

The collection has been designed in London and produced responsibly in London and Spain. We launched with a small number of pieces, each one of them made with lots of love and care, meeting our requirements on comfort, durability and sustainability.

We are growing the collection slowly, listening to our customers feedback and working closely with our partners to create an evergreen collection where you can find clothes you will fall in love with, that last season after season.
