The Collection

The Steén collection is composed of carefully selected materials chosen for their quality, longevity and considered impact. We work with fibres we believe are better for both the wearer and the planet — including sustainable TENCEL™ lyocell, baby alpaca, Cashwool®, organic cotton and natural rubber.

Each material is traceable from fibre to finished garment, allowing us to maintain transparency throughout the production chain. Our aim is to create elevated essentials that feel beautiful against the skin while reflecting a thoughtful approach to sourcing and responsibility.

Tencel™ Lyocell

TENCEL™ lyocell is a fibre derived from wood pulp sourced from responsibly managed forests. It is produced through an environmentally conscious closed-loop process, where water and solvents are recovered and reused, minimising waste.

Naturally breathable and soft, TENCEL™ adapts effortlessly to the seasons — offering warmth in cooler months and a lightweight feel in summer. It absorbs moisture more efficiently than cotton, dries quickly and is less prone to shrinking or creasing, making it both practical and refined for everyday wear.

Baby Alpaca

Baby alpaca refers to the finest and softest grade of alpaca fibre, taken from the most delicate part of the fleece. The term describes the quality of the fibre rather than the age of the animal, though the softness is often associated with younger alpacas.

Exceptionally smooth and resilient, baby alpaca is naturally resistant to pilling, shedding and stretching. Its fibres have a gentle elasticity, allowing garments to retain their shape over time. The result is a piece that feels luxurious yet enduring — designed to be worn and re-worn for years to come.

Cashwool ®

Made entirely in Italy from 100% extra-fine merino wool, Cashwool® offers the softness of cashmere with the resilience of merino. The yarn is Woolmark certified and fully natural, renewable and biodegradable.

Thermoregulating by nature, Cashwool® provides warmth in colder temperatures while remaining breathable in milder weather. Its versatility and refined finish make it a foundational material within the Steén wardrobe.

Organic Cotton

Our organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides, fertilisers or genetically modified seeds. Compared to conventional cotton, it uses significantly less energy and water, supporting a more responsible agricultural process.

Soft, breathable and naturally hypoallergenic, organic cotton is both durable and comfortable — a timeless fibre suited to everyday essentials.

Natural Rubber

We use natural rubber in our elastic waistbands, favouring a renewable and recyclable alternative to synthetic elastics. It requires relatively low energy and limited chemical input during production.

Our rubber is sourced from plantations in Malaysia that operate without child labour, reflecting our commitment to responsible and ethical supply chains

Packaging & Labels

Every detail of our packaging is considered. The woven labels inside our garments are made from 100% recycled rPET. Our paper swing tags are produced using recycled paper derived from takeaway coffee cups, and our thank-you notes are printed on recycled paper using vegan ink.

The inner packaging layer is home-compostable, while outer mailers and stickers are fully recyclable. Wherever possible, we choose materials that reduce waste and support circularity — extending our responsibility beyond the garment itself.
